This summer I made a goal to run to and from work. I thought what a great way to get in some doubles when I am working 10 hr days in the ED. An easy 5-6 miles each way through the park via railroad trail would be perfect. Thanks to the extended hours of daylight in the summer this would be completely possible when I am scheduled 10a-8p.

The big barrier became how will I get all my goods(mostly food) to work and back? There is a locker where I can leave my danskos, toiletries, stethoscope and whatever else I deem necessary for a shift. I spent quite a bit time researching backpacks/running vests. I wasn’t looking for the water hog hydration pack. Sure, I may use it for that sometime and the option would be nice, but my main goal was transporting “stuff”. I needed something that was light, wouldn’t bounce and could carry my oh so important goods to the ED and back. What I found was the Ultima Vesta from the Jenny collection at Ultimate direction. This is a great company with killer packs and vests. Scott Jurek was one of the designers. How could a a fellow vegan be wrong?

- I can store a lot of stuff in this 9oz pack
- I didn’t even realize I was wearing it
- Straps and clips are made for women. Your girls will be happy and not squished
- Lastly, the emergency hair tie that it came with. You just never know what adventure you will be on.

Needless to say my vesta has been amazing. I am able to get all my necessities back and forth to work and I have been literally “running” errands with it. With this pack where can I not go?
I have also felt a a sense of empowerment when wearing this. I lace up, grab my vest, snap, snap and boom I feel like one bad ass mother trucker! It might as well be a super hero cape. I know when it is on I am going places and am well equipped for whatever the days throws at me.
Last week while wearing the “super pack” I came across a lady trying to push her broke down car out the intersection. No need to park my car and help. I was running my errands on foot and kept stride up to her car and pushed her to the shoulder. Yeah! Super Vesta does it again.
If batman can don a suit and can save Gotham what can I do with this pack:-)
